Susan Karimi
Coach Karimi played all sports, including basketball, soccer, tennis, track, and volleyball in junior high and high school in Nebraska. She thoroughly enjoyed volleyball and was an outside hitter and defensive specialist for her high school team in Omaha. She continued to play intramurals and recreational indoor and outdoor leagues throughout college and graduate school and still plays in adult volleyball leagues today.
Coach Karimi is entering her 4th year coaching volleyball at Skyline High School and was named Tri-Valley coach of the year in 2019. She is a certified volleyball coach through NVC (National Volleyball Council) and continues to expand her certification levels through various clinics offered throughout the state of Colorado. She coached elementary/middle school-aged kids for Longmont Recreational League for 5 years prior, as well as 2 years with club volleyball.
Susan holds Bachelor’s degrees in Microbiology from Colorado State University, and Biotechnology from the University of Nebraska. She also has a Master’s degree in Molecular Oncology from the University of Texas and currently works remotely as a portfolio director overseeing clinical research activities for various pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Working from home allows Susan the flexibility to be available for her children, training, and all outside activities associated with her love for volleyball.
